This policy covers the DutyFix customer app, the DutyFix Crew app and dutyfix.com. It describes what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
- Your account — name, phone number, email address, and the language you read the app in.
- Addresses — the addresses you save or book to, including the floor, whether there is a lift, and a map position where you set one. The position is what lets us confirm a crew arrived at the right building.
- Bookings — the service, the slot, what is being carried or cleaned, the price, and the status of the job.
- Photographs of the site — crews photograph the property before starting and after finishing. These record the condition of your home at both ends and are what a damage dispute is settled from.
- Support tickets and ratings — what you write to us, and the rating you leave.
What we do not collect
- Card and bank details. Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card never reaches our servers — we store only a payment reference so we can match a payment to a booking and issue a refund.
- Background location. The customer app asks for location only while you are using it, only to pre-fill an address. You can decline and type the address instead.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Camera and location
The camera is used for two things and nothing else: scanning the QR badge a crew member shows on arrival, and — in the crew app — photographing the site before and after the job. Location, where you allow it, fills in your address and records where a check-in scan happened.
Both are optional. Refusing either does not stop you booking, and the app says so rather than failing silently.
Who sees your details
- The crew assigned to your booking see your address and the job details — but only after they have accepted it. A crew member who has merely been offered the job is told the area, the time and the size of the work, never your address or your name.
- DutyFix operators see your booking in order to run it and answer support.
- Razorpay processes the payment, under their own privacy policy.
- Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept for as long as Indian tax law requires, which is currently eight years. Site photographs are kept while a dispute could still be raised. Everything else is deleted when you close your account.
Your choices
- See or correct what we hold — from your profile in the app, or by writing to us.
- Delete your account — email us from the address on the account. We close it and delete your personal details within 30 days, keeping only records the law requires us to keep.
- Withdraw camera or location permission at any time in the operating system's settings. The app re-asks rather than breaking.
Children
DutyFix is not intended for anybody under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their details.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is when this version was published.
